TEXTY
T- Tell me something about what you read
EX- Write out an EXcerpt from the book (with citation) related to the most significant or pivotal point in the reading
Example: "My father was crying. It was the first time I saw him cry. I had never thought it possible" (Wiesel 19).
T- Try to understand better by asking a question
Y- How does it relate to you? OR, if it does not relate to you; How did reading this make you FEEL?

(T) This chapter talks about Carine and her journey through this time period. (EX) "I was always getting on Mom and Dad's case because they worked all the time and were never around" (Krakauer 129). (T) Why does this story kind of change my view? (Y) I feel sad about this chapter.

ReplyDeleteEX " Two pictures occupy the mantal in Carine McCandless's Virginia Beach home: one of Chris as a junior in High school the other as chris in a pinet sized suit and a crooked tie, standing beside Carine, who is wearing a frilly dress and a Easter hat. What's amazing, says Carine as she studies these images of her brother, "is that even though the pictures were taken ten years apart , his expression is identical" Krakauer 128
T why do the two always fight with there parents?
Y my sister and I are really close.

y- well if buck is the dog then it relates to me because i love my dog verr much.

T why dose Krakauer want to know so much?
Y i have wanted to know about something really bad and asked maby a little to many to questions.
(T)Krakauer is still interviewing all the family members in this chapter.

(Y) I would never want to know to much information about someones family.
T - in this chapter Krakauer has and interview with Chris's sister and talks about how much he loved Buck.

Y - i remember crying daily when my uncle died because he was like my best friend.
