TEXTY
T- Tell me something about what you read
EX- Write out an EXcerpt from the book (with citation) related to the most significant or pivotal point in the reading
Example: "My father was crying. It was the first time I saw him cry. I had never thought it possible" (Wiesel 19).
T- Try to understand better by asking a question
Y- How does it relate to you? OR, if it does not relate to you; How did reading this make you FEEL?

(T) Chris gets to the Alaska Highway, he also meets Alex Stuckey. (EX) Illistrating the harsh hitchhiking conditions on the Alaska Highway Krakauer states "Some of them may wait a week or more between rides" (Krakauer 158). (T) How does Chris meet so many interesting characters along the way? (Y) I like this Stuckey guy.
