TEXTY
T- Tell me something about what you read
EX- Write out an EXcerpt from the book (with citation) related to the most significant or pivotal point in the reading
Example: "My father was crying. It was the first time I saw him cry. I had never thought it possible" (Wiesel 19).
T- Try to understand better by asking a question
Y- How does it relate to you? OR, if it does not relate to you; How did reading this make you FEEL?

ReplyDeleteT chapter ten talks about how the police try and find out who the dead man in the bus was and who he had bin in contact with.
ReplyDeleteEX Ok so I don't have an excerpt but I would like to pay attention to letter one because the man that wrote it organized a trip across the Canadian Arctic not unlike what McCandless did and there is an exilent point in the text and that is RESPECT NATURE DON'T TRY AND CONQUER IT !!!!!
T Who long did it take for the police to find out that the dead body was McCandless.
Y Most of the letters have to do with some sort of Backpaking trip
(T) Chapter 10 discusses some of the people McCandless influenced along the way learning of his death. (EX) "How do you tell someone that their child is dead" (Krakauer 102). (T) Why are some of these people mad at Krakauer for just giving his opinion? (Y) I love the outdoors.
ReplyDeleteT - chapter 10 was a very insirational chapter so many people weere influenced by Mccandless and were sad to here about his death.

X - since when do opinions become something to critisize people about and why is it suddlenly not okay to have you own opinion?
Y- society needs some fixing sometimes GOSH!
T = The letter from the guy in New York was awesome!

T = Why did Chris have some of the thing he had in his bus?
Y = I'm not exactly sure I follow everything that happened, but I get the gist of it.
(T) People that wrote to Outside Magazine had many positive things to say about Chris's lifestyle.

(T) Why did so many people like the lifestyle of Chris?
(Y) From my experience last week. Sometimes when your having a problem in your life it's better to get away from all the distractions and just go somewhere were you can be at one with yourself.
(T) this chapter talks about people that meet chris calling the state trooper
