Into the Wild, Chapter 2

  1. (T) This chapter talks about how they find "Alex" Dead in the back of an old bus.
    (EX) "I am injured, near death, and to weak to hike out of hear."(Krakauer 12)
    (T) How did he die?
    (Y) Why would you go out in the wilderness unprepared.

  2. T the chapter exsplains how the bus got to the Alaskan wilderness

    EX "Yutan hauled two buses back to the highway.A third bus was left on the trail to serve as a backcountry shelter for hunters and hikers. (Krakauer 12)

    T why did he wright the messeg on the wall of the bus if he know no one was comeing?

    Y I have had to go fowored on a trip hurt before

  3. T - this part of the book talks about the Alaskan wilderness and how Alex * chris * got there, along with the bus he was found dead in
    EX - "on the northern margin of the Alaska Range, just before the hulking ramparts of Mt. McKinley and its satellites surrender to the low Kantishna plain, a series of lesser ridges, known as the Outer Range, sprawls across the flats like a rumples blanket on an unmade bed" (Jon Krakauer 9)
    T - Why do they tell you imporant stuff so early?
    Y - i dont like how this book is starting

  4. (T) this chapter talks about the bus chris was found on and how it got there. he was found dead in a blue sleeping bag on a bed in the bus.
    (EX) "reached through a back window and gave the bag a shake" "I walked around to the other side and saw a head sticking out." (13 krakauer)
    (T) why dosn't the guy with the big ATV take him out?
    (Y) i like the writer and how he writed but it is weird how he starts it.

    t-why does he start the book from the end?
    y- i have been on a bus before

  6. (T) Chapeter 2 talked about Chris died and where they found him dead.
    (EX) " I went first". (Jon Krakauer 11)
    (T) Why did the tell us how he died in the beginning of the book and not the end?
    (Y) I would never ever go alone through Alaska by myself never.

    EX: "This is NO JOKE in the name of god, please remain to save me." (Krakour 12)

    T: How did he survive for four months with so little food?

    Y: I have felt like i was gonna starve

  9. T the moose hunters find Chris's dead body in the bus
    EX " Call the Alaskan state troppers
    T why is he already dead in the first pages
    Y Me and my dad are possibly going to alaska this fall

  10. T. Some moose hunters find a note attached to a bus asking for help. They later found "alex" courps in the back of the bus. More then likelty died of starvation.

    EX. ," This is NO JOKE. In the name of god, pleaseremain to save me" (Krekauer 12)

    T. how did he die, well, actually meen what was the road to how he died?

    Y. i can't relate to this writing whatso ever

    Ex "need help, too weak to hike out of here."
    T why did he not walk out of there before he was too far gone? and why did he not get help where he put that S.O.S?
    Y It can't.

  12. T = McCandless is found dead and is brought back to Anchorage for an autopsy.

    EX = "Starvation was posited as the most probable cause of death" (Krakauer 14).

    T = How does the author know so much about this guy?

    Y = I feel a little confused about what happened.

  13. (T) They discover his dead body at the "magic" bus. (EX) "Gordon had a eight-thousand-pound winch on the front of his rig" shows the kind of peope that live in Alaska (Krakauer 11). (T) Why is Alex hitchhiking? (Y) I've been to Alaska.
