(T) Why would you let a stranger sleep in the same place with you?
(Y) I have seen some really bad homeless poeple before in situations like this.

Y: this makes me feel sad for wayne
(T) Alex gets to Carthage, South Dakota. A small town, desolate, he meets Wayne Westerburg. Wayne is in the farming industry and offers Alex a job and a bed. Alex's motivations of leaving his family are starting to be revealed. (EX) "I've given jobs to lots of hitchhikers over the years" proves my first point (Krakauer 17). (T) Why does a lot of this resinate with me? (Y) I love this book.

ReplyDeleteEX - here is a copy of my final transcript. gradewise things went pretty well and i ended up with a high cumulative average.thank you for the pictures, the shaving gear,and the postcard from paris. it seems that you really enjoyed your trip there. it must have a lot of fun. i gave lloyed [chris's closet friend emory] his picture, and he was very grateful; he did not have a shot of his diploma getting handed to him. not much else happening,but it's starting to get real hot and humid down here. say hi to every one for me( Krakauer 21 and 22 )

(T)He travels a lot but is he trying to find the right place in his life where it can be?
(Y) Sometimes I don't know where I belong in life, I just want to wait and see where life takes me.

Y = I guess this part was kind of interesting, but I still haven't really gotten into the story yet.

T. chapter three explains how everyone in Carthage knew Alex. they talk about how he was a hard worker, and very inteleigent. Neer the end it talks about what happened at his graguation, and also a few postcards he mailed home.
