TEXTY
T- Tell me something about what you read
EX- Write out an EXcerpt from the book (with citation) related to the most significant or pivotal point in the reading
Example: "My father was crying. It was the first time I saw him cry. I had never thought it possible" (Wiesel 19).
T- Try to understand better by asking a question
Y- How does it relate to you? OR, if it does not relate to you; How did reading this make you FEEL?

T: why didn't jack kill the pig?
Y: this relates to me because i have climbed a mountain before (and let me just say it was breathtaking being at the top and seeing a bird fly below me.)
T ralph was elected leader of the group of boys

(T) Ralph is elected leader and then they climb a big hill to see if they are on a island

(Y) i had to survive in the wilderness one time and had to go hunting
(T) Jack and Ralph run an election, Ralph wins big time. (EX) They almost got the pig. (T) Why is Jack the way he is. (Y) I couldn't kill a pig either.

Y.i've been bird hunting before

(Y) I like to go to abandon island
T = They went exploring for something to eat.
