TEXTY
T- Tell me something about what you read
EX- Write out an EXcerpt from the book (with citation) related to the most significant or pivotal point in the reading
Example: "My father was crying. It was the first time I saw him cry. I had never thought it possible" (Wiesel 19).
T- Try to understand better by asking a question
Y- How does it relate to you? OR, if it does not relate to you; How did reading this make you FEEL?

T: The shell made a REALLY loud sound

Y = I once owned a conch shell
(T) that when he found the conch and called the kids

(Y) i love conch shells
T. They found a conch on the lisland, and used it as a sort of signal to round up the other boys.

Y. I find shells all the time when im at the beach

y my grandma has a concshell on the shelf in her bathroom
