TEXTY
T- Tell me something about what you read
EX- Write out an EXcerpt from the book (with citation) related to the most significant or pivotal point in the reading
Example: "My father was crying. It was the first time I saw him cry. I had never thought it possible" (Wiesel 19).
T- Try to understand better by asking a question
Y- How does it relate to you? OR, if it does not relate to you; How did reading this make you FEEL?

T How did the GN get so popular in such a short time
Y I have never really liked GN's
(T) The article is about Graphic novels hitting the big screen. (EX) "'The days of being embarrassed to be caught reading a graphic novel is over'", grammar mistake (Wiener). (T) Why does this articles get off topic so much? (Y) I LOVE graphic novels, most of all Watchmen (Yay Dr. Manhattan).
