Dear Mr. Macy and Students,
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific presentation at CLAS.
T: I learned how a smart board works in action. I knew about the concept, but it was informative to watch the flow of information in the hands of experienced users.
EX: I think I was most influenced by the ethos of your presentation. You demonstrated that technology can deepen learning, and as I work with my own students, your attitude will buoy me up.
T: There is a sheet called "Prediction Tree" in the handout. What is this, exactly?
Y: I would like to make a request. Would it be okay if I came to visit your classroom? I would like to learn more about what you're doing. I teach writing and rhetoric at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and one of my research interests is how students work with technology.
Thank you for a thought-provoking session.
Sincerely,
Dr. Dahlin
Dr. Dahlin,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment!
Yes, we would love to have you visit the classroom. Please contact me at tmacy@denveracademy.org at your convenience.
Thanks again for your interest,
Mr. Macy and the Class
Travis and DA students-I was BLOWN AWAY by your presentation. Your use of technology was amazing! I think that the students' passion for learning was evident as was Mr. Macy's passion for teaching.
ReplyDeleteAlong those lines, each year I attend the CLAS conference to "re-energize" for my classroom for the coming year. Your session did that for me! I will be using TEXTY today and have already begun a blog for my 9th graders: ninthgradeenglishclass.blogspot.com. Thank you, thank you. Keep up the good work, Travis. The students are LUCKY to have you with them, my friend.
Sincerely,
Josh Curnett, Eaglecrest High School
Dear Mr. Macy and Students,
ReplyDeleteI arrived for the afternoon sessions at the CLAS conference; many teachers were talking about how much they learned during your presentation in the morning.
Way to go!
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mr. Ernewein
Dear Mr. Macy and Students,
ReplyDeleteI, too, was absolutely blown away by your presentation. You were funny, interesting, and motivating. Well done!
