TEXTY
T- Tell me something about what you read
EX- Write out an EXcerpt from the book (with citation) related to the most significant or pivotal point in the reading
Example: "My father was crying. It was the first time I saw him cry. I had never thought it possible" (Wiesel 19).
T- Try to understand better by asking a question
Y- How does it relate to you? OR, if it does not relate to you; How did reading this make you FEEL?

Y I cant really relate to this other then a person has tried to sell me stuff at a junky store
T = He moves into a house next to the YMCA and gets cased by a white man.

T = He said there were two men in front of the house, what happened to the second one?
Y = This is starting to get scary.

ReplyDelete(T) J. Griffin gets followed by a guy who apparently loves harassing whites when he walks down Rampart Street.
(Ex) "as I turned the corner, I noticed two large white boys sprawled across the white boulevard. One of them, a heavyset, muscular fellow in khaki pants and a white sweat shirt, whistled at me." -J. Griffin 33

(Y) I use to go to the Y when I was a kid
(T) he is being chased by a man who called him baldy

(T) why do people have to judge others
(Y) i have been scard when i was walking alone.
(T)He is being harrassed by another man.

(T) Why were black people treated like they were animals?
(Y) I could never picture myself say the N word to a black person.
