TEXTY
T- Tell me something about what you read
EX- Write out an EXcerpt from the book (with citation) related to the most significant or pivotal point in the reading
Example: "My father was crying. It was the first time I saw him cry. I had never thought it possible" (Wiesel 19).
T- Try to understand better by asking a question
Y- How does it relate to you? OR, if it does not relate to you; How did reading this make you FEEL?

(T) John continues his quest for truth. He meets Sterling and Joe, and encounters his first seperate facilities situation. (EX) As stated in "Hey! You can't go in there. Hey" (Griffin 24). (T) I know he is trying to keep a low profile, but why isn't he standing up to this? (Y) This guy does a great job at telling us the unabridged version, and still keeps it clean.

Y Like I said before, this guy is brave.
T when john got on the bus he offered a seat to a white woman she returned it with " There Getting sassier"

T why would the people return his kindness with disapproval
Y This makes the US as a country look really bad
T = Griffin meets up with the man who shined his shoes earlier and works with him for the day.

T = Why was Joe looking for peanuts?
Y = The detail he give is very descriptive, and he writes at a pace that isn't too slow or too fast.
(T) He meets a shoe shiner.

(T) Who would want to shine shoes for a living?
(Y) I see shoe shiners at DIA all the time when I travel.
T: The shoeshiner guy is really surprised to see he's changed his color.

ReplyDelete(EX) "desegregate the buses with the 7 point program: pray for guidance, be courtious and friendly, be neat and clean, avoud loud talk, do not argue, report incidents immedialy, over come evil with good." (griffen 21)
(T) why does he ride the bus? i thought he had a car.
