TEXTY
T- Tell me something about what you read
EX- Write out an EXcerpt from the book (with citation) related to the most significant or pivotal point in the reading
Example: "My father was crying. It was the first time I saw him cry. I had never thought it possible" (Wiesel 19).
T- Try to understand better by asking a question
Y- How does it relate to you? OR, if it does not relate to you; How did reading this make you FEEL?

ReplyDeleteEX: "One day when we came to a stop, a worker took a piece of bread from his bag and threw it into a wagon." (Wiesel 100) i said this because i think it's like a freak show people throwing food at the prisoners and loving it as the prisoners kill each other over it it's terrible.
T: How could people be such beasts?
Y: this made me feel extremely sad.

Y This book is scary
(T) They are transfered to Buchenwald and almost don't survive. (EX) "When they withdrew, there were two dead bodies next to me" (Wiesel 102) (T) Why such mindless killing of the prisoners by prisoners? (Y) I can't describe my sorrow.
