TEXTY
T- Tell me something about what you read
EX- Write out an EXcerpt from the book (with citation) related to the most significant or pivotal point in the reading
Example: "My father was crying. It was the first time I saw him cry. I had never thought it possible" (Wiesel 19).
T- Try to understand better by asking a question
Y- How does it relate to you? OR, if it does not relate to you; How did reading this make you FEEL?

T. Greg had tea with the Taliban.

Y. I am uncomfortable with public speaking too.
T - Greg Got to be introduced by Jon Krakaure!

Y - We read Jon Krakauer's book INTO THE WILD!
T: Greg talks to the taliban and he wants to know about the schools for girls.

T: to answer lukes question he is the guy who wrote Into the Wild and Into thin Air. Why doesn't Greg have a school for boys?

WHAT I REALLY MEAN
T-Greg got hate mail! thats not nice! "you shouldve gotton bombed, like those children should that you teach!" WHAT KIND OF PERSON SENDS THAT?!
E-Jon krakauer introduces Greg Mortenson. thats great! use a famous person to introduce an unliked person! genius!
X-why does he get interrogated? "wheres osama?" hes asking an AMERICAN where OSAMA is? is he supposed to be involved with a terrorist to bomb his own country? strange.
T-why is it that Greg gets all this hate mail, and yet the audience is happy to see him when Jon introduces him? what happened to "you traitor!"?
Y-he is teaching muslims too. people should be more diverse and accepting. that way, if nobody cared about how someone else is different (and hates him apparently) then there would be less (or no) war!
...or mindless mass murder.
